Government Screwing Military

last modified 2008-10-18 01:27

The neo-cons and those yellow ribbons really support the troops. LOL LOL LOL

****Two of the seven marines who wrote a critical op-ed piece for the NY Times regarding their view of the war are now dead while a third has been shot in the head (but will recover) Coincidence?  Maybe, but I'd watch my back even more so if I was one of the other four guys

******More examples of our leaders lying about supporting the troops then stabbing them in their back

****Olbermann talks about them ripping us off and screwing the troops

****Pat Tillman's mother still demanding answers while all you "I support the Troops" ribbon phonies don't care enough to give a mother the truth and closure

***US Soldiers in German prisons for "deserting" the army (Now THESE are couragous troops)

*****Majority of soldiers families want them home NOW, something you won't hear on the TV

****U.S. commanders in Iraq are rejecting a recommendation by Army mental health experts that troops receive a one-month break for every three months in a combat zone (This despite experts and troops saying how much it would benefit them and despite that no time "in our military history have soldiers or Marines been required to serve on the front line in any war for a period of six-seven months, let alone a year, without a significant break in order to recover from the physical, psychological and emotional demands."  One defense for rejecting these breaks "We would never get the job done of securing [Baghdad] if we went out for three months and came back for one" Um yeah, cause that's really getting accomplished now!)

****Loose Change producer and Iraq and Afghanistan veteran Korey Rowe has been arrested and handed over to military officials without bail for allegedly "deserting the Army" (Acting like a true patriot and questioning your government gets you arrested..)

***Soldier has wife and friend help shoot him to avoid going back to Iraq.  All three were arrested and he may go back to Iraq anyways.

**Suicide Rate in Army at a 26-Year High

****This video describes how Halliburton is poisoning the troops in Iraq through their water supply.

*****Anti-War Vets attacked by police

**President Bush celebrates Memorial Day by threatening to veto the G.I. Bill and opposing a pay raise for soldiers.

****Sergeant James Circello describes the horrors our govenrment threw them into and gives some examples of the sick horrible actions taken by his fellow soldiers

****Soldiers still getting charged for equipment...some of which they couldn't have possibly even seen let alone use or break (Get it through your heads: the administration and the Corporations making bank off of the war DO NOT care about the troops)

***Women soldiers get raped by male soldiers; women commit suicide or stop drinking water in the afternoon to avoid going to the rape bathroom at night and end up dying of dehydration ("Under orders from Lt. Gen Ricardo Sanchez...the cause of death was no longer listed, "The women asked to be here, so now let them take what comes with the territory"")

*******22 year CIA Vet fired for refusing to falsify Iran Intel

Another angry parent left with a dead soldier child

*Award winning journalist describes some of the horrible living conditions for the soldiers in Iraq

An honest commercial for military recruitment

****What the news media does not tell you part 34593049530495: Saddam offered to go into exile which would have saved a trillion dollars, spared over a million lives and prevented tens of thousands of dead and injured U.S. soldiers

***More data manipulation of the deaths and injuries suffered by US soldiers

*****Leaked document shows US troop casualties is way more than reported in the media

*****Our troop supporting leaders just voted down a pay raise for the troops while the illegal Blackwater troops rake in massive taxpayer cash Olbermann's take

***Troops can't have photo ops with democrats, only Republicans

***More mentally unfit soldiers are being thrust into battle, suicide risks ignored to sometimes deadly consequences

*******A Marine who survived two tours of Iraq was tased and then shot and murdered by a large group of cops; in front of two children.  This Marine was innocent; not guilty of any crime.  He begged for the cops to stop tasing him, "not in front of the kids", he started throwing up and he told them he was trying to comply with their demands--which he couldn't quite do--you know because of the THOUSANDS OF WATTS IN HIS BODY!  Then the cops planted pepper spray and a switchblade on him and lied, lied, lied.

***A new record: 101 US Soldier deaths in Afghanistan 2008

*****UPDATE on the Pat Tillman story: more evidence shows that he very well may have been murdered and not accidentally killed. The congress is scheduled to look into it while Bush and Co. are yet again claiming "Executive Privilege." Way to support the troops and give the families of the dead troops the truth! Such as Tillman's dad who is pissed about the cover up. Here is an interview with the soldier who was right next to Tillman when he died and he also tells how the military chaplain lied to investigators (WWJD? LOL) And World Net Daily is also lying about this scandal (Is lying a hobby of theirs, or are they getting paid by someone or some group?) Now we know Tillman was planning on meeting Noam Chomsky (motive) and Spc. Bryan O'Neal comes forward to say how he was ordered to not say a word about what really happened

**Two new defense contractors are lining their pockets with our dollars as there are now more contractors in Iraq than soldiers (and they are putting our soldiers in danger)

Bush's new reason for the Iraq War failures? "Maybe the US military just isn't that good" (LOL)

**More stories of life altering Brain Injuries

A soldier comes home--his sad story..he's now living in his car for one.

Another Bill showing that the Government does not "Support the Troops" like most people believe.

***Another video of certain soldiers speaking up about the government's mistreatment toward them

****A Sergeant's story of the atrocities he saw, and how he got sent to jail for claiming "consciousness objector" status, and how he was denied parole because he wasn't "rehabilitied"  Fubared Stuff right there.

*More reports of our troops being given Speed, making them more trigger-happy

****Months after a politically embarrassing $1 billion shortfall that put veterans' health care in peril, Veterans Affairs officials involved in the foul-up got hefty bonuses ranging up to $33,000 (From our pockets)

**A former federal bank examiner rips the FDIC and tells what happen to him when he did

****Some soldiers speaking out on how DU has effected them

***Veterans file a class action lawsuit against the American government for their treatment of veterans

***As the Daily Show nicely points out, the powers that be are limiting the news that comes in and out of Iraq through the troops

**Agustin Aguayo: Iraq War vet and prisoner of conscience, and under arrest for having morals

***One part per billion UNACCEPTABLE!  Bush lies lies lies out his diseased mouth about the troops and the Daily Show doesn't miss it.  Unbelievable that us americans let him get away with it.

****Washington Post reports on the many soldiers with PTSD and not getting any help

***More injured troops and doctors and the lasting wounds that the injured troops rarely get treated for and isn't readily visible: PTSD and TBI..traumatic brain injury

*More examples of injured troops and poor living facilities outside of Walter Reed

*******Terrific and sad documentary regarding the truth about the soldiers in Iraq: Includes Troops saying it is NOT courageous to shoot along with everyone else, soldiers recalling first hand accounts of killing inncoents-- sad sad SADstories-- family members of dead troops speaking out, video of troops' disgusting sickening behavior, troop psychology and how the manipulation has been honed by those in charge to turn them into killing machines, aftermath of the troops' mentality and depression, military psychitrist who wouldn' t talk with one soldier because he didn't want to kill anymore, military heads trying to say the troops have personality disorders and not PTSD.  Such quotes as "the yellow ribbons don't help us, listen to us" "nothing honorable about what we did" "maybe I shouldn't be let off the hook for what I've done" "I apologize for my cowardice, for not speaking out sooner"

***Look at these wounded soldiers whose lives as they knew it are over.  And we are spending $275,000,000 a day for what?  An illegal war.  Without it, these soldiers would be fine and universal health care for all would be no problem.

***Ex-Vet and wife--after getting permission from library officials--put sign near a recruiter warning people away.  They end up getting arrested. (So ridiculous when people say "you are taking away my free speech" when they are being protested....um no, they are just disagreeing with you and your lies, while you IMPRISON them for disagreeing with you.  Pathetic.)

**This General retired because he knew what Bush was doing was wrong, he then became a consultant for CBS who eventually fired him for his views

***More evidence that proves the administration doesn't give a sh!7 about the military, and Fox News attacks the media and not the administration

*****Crying marine tells how Halliburton is poisoning their water in Iraq (by taking short cuts to achieve even greater profits...even though they are already making unimaginable sums of money FROM US TAXPAYERS!!!  YOU are a terrorist helping murder innocents overseas and YOU ARE NOT supporting the troops by paying taxes and letting the government get away with this.)

*As of June '07: acting secretary of the U.S. Army says he is seeing a troubling spike in key morale indicators among soldiers -- suicide, divorces and accidents

****Pat Tillman who was vehemetly against the Iraq War may NOT have been killed by "friendly fire" on accident I thought this article was bogus until I read it.  Now I'm highly suspicious of his murder. ("Most of us have glimpsed the several coroner shows now so popular on TV, where every shred of evidence is saved and protected to expose the crime; no eyelash is ever lost or discarded. But Tillman’s clothing and body armor, as well as his personal diary were all burned.") And now Bush and Co. are claiming "Executive Privilege" so they don't have to release any more information about the matter

***Women, who Vet husband had PTSD and was not being properly cared for by the Vet hospital, was not allowed to see her husband prior to his death. (This sad story should have never happened, he should never had been in war)

*Anti-War Alec Baldwin to pay a soldier's way through college.  Would someone in the administration do that from their own pocket??  The answer is no--no they wouldn't, but they have no trouble sending our kids to die and murder foriegners on their home soil.

***More stats and rape/abuse stories on women soldiers by their men counterparts ("A Department of Defense report revealed that nearly one-third of a nationwide sample of female veterans seeking health care through the V.A. said they experienced rape or attempted rape during their service. Of that group, 37 percent said they were raped multiple times, and 14 percent reported they were gang-raped.")

**Several more troops voice their displeasure with being in Iraq and with Bush and Co.; quotes inside

*Recent veterans getting threatened that they will lose their honorable discharge status if they protest the war

**While Walter Reed hospital FINALLY gets scrutinized by the media, we learn about the VIP treatment given to the "important" patients

****Not only are homeless people being treated like criminals and animals that you are not allowed to feed, a third of homeless people are veterans

**The Army is ordering injured troops to go to Iraq and here is a video interview with two soldiers

**A quarter of US war vets diagnosed with mental disorder

***Part 1 of the GI REVOLT documentary

Military banning tattoos for soldiers (They want them to be as robotic as possible with no individual rights)

Injured Troops Request Extended Tours To Avoid Being Sent To Walter Reed (It could very well be true)

*Walter Reed patients get in trouble for talking to the media Video here (Soldiers are simply cold tools to the ruling elite.  Once they are broken, they could not care less about them, of course they have to appear to care but a cursory glance at their actions proves their words are b.s.)

******A Navy soldier was tortured, not by any dirty arabs, but by his fellow americans.  Falsely accused and the torturers didn't even bother to check his story before torturing him.  Now Donald Vance knows what it's like to be falsely accused by the U.S. military of aiding terrorists.  If we do that to our own, just think of what disgusting things we do to foreigners.  AND YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT WITH YOUR TAX DOLLARS!  DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

***Interview with Captain James Yee who tried to fix the wrongdoings at Gitmo and was charged with felonious crimes.  Not only was he found innocent of all charges, he was given an honorable discharge, but at least the military officials who were pro-torture got rid of him.

**MSNBC the latest to do a story on the homeless Iraqi veterans; remember the republicans and stereotypical rednecks SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!!  Surrrreee they do.

***Attempts to privatize (read: rip off tax payers and screw veterans so the corporations can make as much as possible) Walter Reed care Senator Max Cleland who often visits Walter Reed is pissed off and the government claims "oops" but it was really a designed mistake

****New book gives stories and examples of US soldiers given illegal drugs to make them more robotic and violent; Edgewood experiments and more

**What really happened in the Watada trial and how jeopardy may be attached

****The so-called-Judge in the Watada trial barred several scholars on international and constitutional law from testifying yesterday about the legality of the war.  The verdict has already been decided.  "Land of the free" and "fair trial" only apply once in a while...this country is going down the drain.

**Soldier who was suicidal had his repeated requests for help essentially denied (and the VA most likely altered his records after the fact), and eventually hung himself

***US Army officer (Watada) barred from disputing legality of Iraq war at court-martial (Well, this trial is not off to a good start: "In other words, when you join the military to defend the Constitution, you are no longer to benefit from its provisions and protections.")

*"So this is how this administration treats our war-wounded vets: no funding for resources, and utter contempt for their needs."

*Documentary on PTSD and other soldiers' traumas

**A retired USAF lieutenant colonel explains why Watada going to court is bull and how he is getting screwed over by the powers that be

**Protect Watada! Do some actual troop supporting for once.  His trial begins with some non-corporate media outlets prepared for a fight Here is how you can help! ("Lt. Watada has done something which has a national resonance: he has asked people to examine both the law, and their conscience, regarding what is being done in our name in Iraq.")

*Lt. Ehren Watada's Speech PART 2 of his speech here

*Thousands may be involuntarily called for tours

*Army holding down disability ratings, finding more ways to rip off injured Vets  (Read about the IG report) ("It's truly amazing how quickly our vets become expendable to this administration once they are no longer a useful part of the war machine. This administration clearly subscribes to the belief stated by Henry Kissinger that our soldiers are only "dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns".")

Here is a list of how the government supports our troops

****Anti-RPG device is rejected by the US military in favor of one that will be ready in 2011 (corporate made).  US Deaths so far from RPG attacks since this device has been available to them: 2 and counting.

*Iraq Vets Left in Physical and Mental Agony

Army asks dead to sign up for another hitch (just imagine how devestating that would be to lose a loved one in a war then get a letter telling them to get back into the war)

***Pentagon Official Said Veterans Benefits Were ‘Hurtful’ To National Security (The neo-cons and the "yellow ribbon on my SUV"ers do not care about the troops!  Actions speak louder than words, and ribbons do not constitute actions.)

*Married couple now in hiding after going AWOL...Army broke several promises and possibly forged documents(Find article "Married Couple Goes AWOL", about halfway down)

Interview with Bob Watada, the father of Lt. Erin Watada, the first officer to publicly refuse to serve in Iraq

*Republicans care about the troops: the poor conditions of Walter Reed

Iraq War veterans now homeless, a few interviews

Six Days of DoD Email; Iraq War, dead soldiers

Support a true courageous soldier ("The military insists that no soldier is obligated to follow an illegal or immoral order. This has been policy since the Nuremberg trials when "I was only following my orders" became the standard defense of WW2 war crimes.")

*Gay Soldier w/Arab Language Skills Kicked from Army (pathetic)

Marines being called up at a suspicious rate and here

*Another soldier in the process of refusing to go to Iraq

**Guantánamo defense lawyer forced out of Navy (for doing the right thing: "So this is how our military treats its people who have actually done the job they were supposed to do for alleged 'enemy combatant's. What a great message that sends to others preparing to defend these folks at their upcoming tribunals: tell the truth, do the job, and get kicked out!")

ALASKAN TROOPS DON'T GET TO COME HOME and the community is pissed

*Another cut to military health care ("Congress doesn't care: it's generally not their kids or families having to deal with this. It's just a bunch of numbers on a spread sheet, not human beings who have sacrificed what's left of their lives for their country.")

"Upper Class" rarely serves in military (and they are the ones that benefit most from wars)

*Many military families rely on donated goods to survive (but at least you have a yellow ribbon!)

**PBS documentary on the suffering of our troops and how much the administration does not support them

Our soliders tortured ("The US Government and the mainstream media will no doubt make a huge show of condemnation over the torturing of the captured American soldiers. But the plain fact is that those men died painful and horrific deaths because the US invaded Iraq on the basis of lies and deceptions, then instigated the use of torture on captured prisoners.")
