last modified 2008-11-21 05:51

"The politicians really are at great fault for not squaring with the American people. We're being attacked for what we do in the Islamic world, not for who we are or what we believe in or how we live. And there's a huge burden of guilt to be laid at Mr. Bush, Mr. Clinton, both parties for simply lying to the American people." - Michael Scheuer, Former CIA Bin Laden Unit Chief

***Iraq War Veteran Spc. Justin Cliburn tells his story "The same set of soldiers that in 2005 said they couldn't wait to kill "ragheads" were now bragging about times they scared Iraqis, bent the rules of engagement, and generally enjoyed playing bully for a year."

*******"The Nation" to release their in-depth interviews with 50 soldiers across the country detailing horrible horrible sick abuses to Iraqi citizens (WE ARE THE TERRORISTS)

****This is an amazing video to me.  It shows a snippet of an interview with Dick Cheney back in '94.  His position with Iraq is completely different.  Now, I know people change their minds, but usually not this drastically (as an adult) and not while completely ignoring and dismissing your past viewpoint in such black and white terms.  Also I noticed his cadence, his tone, and his mannerisms were completely different!!  They were real!  What happened?  Money? Drugs? Power?

*******Terrific and sad documentary regarding the truth about the soldiers in Iraq: Includes Troops saying it is NOT courageous to shoot along with everyone else, soldiers recalling first hand accounts of killing inncoents-- sad sad SADstories-- family members of dead troops speaking out, video of troops' disgusting sickening behavior, troop psychology and how the manipulation has been honed by those in charge to turn them into killing machines, aftermath of the troops' mentality and depression, military psychitrist who wouldn' t talk with one soldier because he didn't want to kill anymore, military heads trying to say the troops have personality disorders and not PTSD.  Such quotes as "the yellow ribbons don't help us, listen to us" "nothing honorable about what we did" "maybe I shouldn't be let off the hook for what I've done" "I apologize for my cowardice, for not speaking out sooner"

****Two of the seven marines who wrote a critical op-ed piece for the NY Times regarding their view of the war are now dead while a third has been shot in the head (but will recover) Coincidence?  Maybe, but I'd watch my back even more so if I was one of the other four guys

A retired General with "impeccable conservative credentials, extensive foreign policy experience, who is a true citizen-soldier with a proven commitment to his country" attacks the thoughtless war and Bush saying "The very genius of the American presidency is that it is an office held by an elected representative of the people, not by a monarch who can rule by fiat and enact policy at will" :)

**What really happened in the Watada trial and how jeopardy may be attached

****The so-called-Judge in the Watada trial barred several scholars on international and constitutional law from testifying yesterday about the legality of the war.  The verdict has already been decided.  "Land of the free" and "fair trial" only apply once in a while...this country is going down the drain.

***Another excellent speech by Lt. Watada...a troop I firmly support

***US Army officer (Watada) barred from disputing legality of Iraq war at court-martial (Well, this trial is not off to a good start: "In other words, when you join the military to defend the Constitution, you are no longer to benefit from its provisions and protections.")

**A retired USAF lieutenant colonel explains why Watada going to court is bull and how he is getting screwed over by the powers that be

**Olbermann once again exposes more lies by Drudge and some republican congressmen and also O'Reilly's disgusting attack on a career military officer

**Protect Watada! Do some actual troop supporting for once.  His trial begins with some non-corporate media outlets prepared for a fight Here is how you can help! ("Lt.
