Last Bastion of Freedom....how long will it last?

****Google finally admitted human influence with their search engine (meaning their "algorithm" it has bragged about for years is at least in part BS and whoever they like more or pays them more or trades favors with them gets first billing; your meta tags that worked a decade ago are now growing increasingly pointless)

*Congress once again trying to tax our internet, help put a stop to it

**Comcast is now placing limits on customers' broadband usage. (Step 1)

**US Military to patrol internet...we are paying them to spy on us yipee!

***Israel (teamed up with the US) recruiting more agents to spread lies on the internet

***In Canada: Man has house illegally searched by police after this admitted truth activist has facebook pic of himself holding a capgun

*One example of many of corporations manipulating information on the internet with money

**Mom goes to jail for an online prank she pulled which indirectly caused some girl to kill herself (yes the mom seems like a 'p'unt and sad the girl died, but it's not a jailable offense.  Moral crimes are not punishable by the state in a free society.)

*****This man pretty much proves the media bias in covering the presidential candidates

****10 ways the internet is at risk, and Comcast's contol over media and events

****AT&T will cut off internet connections of customers who criticize them

***Wikipedia (or someone using it) keeps trying to take down the picture of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam

****Australia now set to restrict online access to certain websites

*****The Pentagon is to spend $30 Billion building a super secret "National Cyber Range" in order to prepare for all out cyber warfare by using it to conduct mock online battles with realistic info-warriors

****Check the fine print on your ISP.  They can do anything they want and look at anything you do including e-mails.

***Bullll, a judge rules that cartoons characters are "real" people when engaged in pornographic and pedophilic images

**The U.S. airforce has announced plans for a two-year, $11 million project that will seek the capability to hack into, fully control and even destroy any form of computer or network there is

***ISP's have resolved to restrict the Internet to a TV-like subscription model where users will be forced to pay to visit selected corporate websites by 2012, while others will be blocked, according to a leaked report.

***YouTube manipulating their "most watched" list on the front page, Ignoring Paul and Gravel.

*****The Pentagon is expanding "Information Operations" on the Internet with purposefully set up foreign news websites that are designed to look like independent media sources but in reality are nothing more than direct military propaganda. Link also includes info on CENTCOM and past similar behavior.

*****Fresh documents reveal that the FBI is actively engaged in the monitoring of electronic communications and cell phone calls of American citizens without the prior approval of a court

****Cops using Myspace to arrest you and get search warrants

******Thanks to the passing of a bill that most congressmen didn't even read, spying on our phone calls and internet usage will increase with Google already being a culprit.  Here is a site that let's you use google anonymouslyRon Paul is one of the few that fights for internet freedom.

****Google now manipulating search engine to avoid some alternative sites (such as uruknet.com which is a terrific site) now AOL is blocking Alex Jones material

***A video on Net Neutrality and how the corporations are trying to hijack the internet just like they did with radio (and cable)

**Google working with the government? Well their power and reach continues to expand at least.

Yahoo promoting smoking subliminally?

*****The disgusting music industry is attacking and sueing people who download music--but only the people that can't afford an attorney and have to settle.  Their behavior sickens me.  And while I personally think it is wrong to download more than a song or two from a CD without paying for it, these suits are plain wrong.  One, this is like arresting only black people for a certain crime while other colors go free for the same crime.  Two, these suits give nothing back to the artists, only the corporate thieves (but I guess that's what the artists get for selling out).  Three, they are sueing for $8 per song!!!!!, not only is this economic rape, but this has to be usury which is supposed to be illegal.

**Score one for cyberspace!!!  Corporately funded (and probably government funded as well) anti-piracy group "Media Defender" used another dirty trick to try and trap "pirates" but the interweb fought back and caused their site to shut down...for now...they'll be back (I'm actually against piracy, but I'm more against these overly funded groups who try their hardest to trap and punish kids and young adults)

**Amnesty International warns that the Internet is slowly losing its freedoms ("The internet is a bad thing for two groups: for governments who are realising that they are losing control of information and are trying to restrict the use of the internet; and for the victims of those governments, individuals who are imprisoned for simply using the internet to post and share information.")

Government illegally (or close to it) messes with the internet and Fox news! reports it (watch the link die...)

*O'Reilly continues to try and smear the internet

****Diebold, the CIA among government groups and corporations who "edit" Wiki to their benefit More examples here

Some stupid gays and stupid lesbians are making me side with some hardcore christians.  EHarmony is being sued for not having a section for gay people.  Even though they do not have anywhere close to a monopoly on internet dating sites.  There are plenty of other popular sites that accept gays.  There is not one good reason for this lawsuit and if it succeeds will give a precedent for judical control over a website.

**NSA and Microsoft Worked Together on Windows Vista Security (and we all know from the illegal wiretapping that the NSA can be trusted...SARCASM! Switch to Linux if possible)

***At&t doesn't want records released because the information is too proprietary

***O RLY? This site has Colbert balls and has published these records anyway

Judge concludes a case saying the government can not look at e-mails without permission (so now it is illegal, won't stop them from doing it anyway)

*Congress tries to pass a law to protect bloggers....but is that a good thing?  Read the first comment to understand my hesitation.  (This is almost like telling your wife she is allowed to watch a certain TV show....if she accepts that, she will probably accept it when you disallow something.)

***Bush and Co. trying to make the internet and your cell phone spy on you..legally

*Some recent examples of our government officials using propaganda to try and regulate the internet

A new case could further threaten the future of the internet

**Conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation makes a Fox style YouTube.  They will fail.  So far the masses have control over the internet and these ultra powerful PR firms can't win on this playing field...yet.

*YouTube at the behest of Fox removes all copies of their interview with Clinton

*Internet faster and cheaper in other countries...US companies have already hijacked part of the internet

**CENTCOM admits to hiring people to argue with bloggers (your tax dollars at work)

****Guerrilla News Network (and other groups) is an American Intelligence disinfo operation designed to attract young political dissidents, draw them into the community, document their beliefs, and moderate their opinions; the players, CIA and Israel connections and more

Internet and underground media under attack ("In other words, a fee will be due every time for the operation of moving a music file from one system (your home computer) to another (your mp3 player). This law is also an attack on blogs using clips of news stories to illustrate government wrongdoing.")

Moby tries to save the internet

NSA breaks another law-- if you visit their site beware!

**Senators working on a bill that would require ISPs and perhaps some Web sites to alert the government of any illegal images of real or "cartoon" minors (now they are trying to make drawings illegal)

They are using our own weapons against us: NSA to compile our online data and info

*The Sentiment Analysis program

**Government now allowed to tap Internet calls

**Europe Moves To Kill The Internet (if this passes, america will be next and byebye internet)

******THE DEATH OF THE INTERNET (make sure this doesn't happen!! Do something!)

Net Neutrality in danger folks

Save the internet

What the internet really looks like

***Listen to the defense this Senator gave in trying to eliminate Net Neutrality...why the hell do people keep voting for these people?

Check out the bill 202 of HR 4279 that was incredibly passed by a vote of 410-11. Two of the dissenting voters included Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul. It enables the government to take your computer over the littliest thing (such as downloading a single unatuhorize mp3) and the masses just let it happen.
